About Me
My passion is to help others attain their goals, I hope I can work with you to attain yours!
I have always said that every person at some point in their life needs therapy. Many think that therapy is something you need because something is "wrong" with you... the truth is that sometimes we all need someone to listen to us and guide us through life's ups and downs.
I have been fortunate enough to help others when they have needed it for 20+yrs in the mental health/substance abuse field. As an outpatient counselor in substance abuse facilities, I worked with people who had a variety of mental health diagnoses, from a variety of backgrounds. However, due to a number of factors, our time with them was somewhat limited, and my dream was to be able to work with people throughout their journey.
I wanted to be able to support people throughout their journey, so I took the steps needed in order to begin my private practice. Having seen how many people couldn't attend therapy because of distance or other commitments, I decided to use telehealth services, in hopes that I could provide others with a means by which therapy would be accessible and comfortable.
Celtic Tree of Life
The symbol for my practice
Choosing the imagery for my practice was based on my heritage and the image's meaning. The Celtic Tree of Life ultimately represents the forces of nature combining to provide balance and harmony. The branches of the tree (what is visible) connect to the roots (what is not visible). This can hold many different meanings, such as what we show to others vs how we feel inside. Part of gaining harmony & balance in our personal lives is to work on the insides matching the outsides. It can also represent the heavens (branches) and the earth (roots); our dreams (heavens) and where we are currently based (roots). There are many interpretations for this symbol/imagery that one can identify as their own, however as with the tree's never-ending connections, what we strive for in therapy is for our branches to match our roots, for them to be interconnected as we journey through life.
